Dr. Beate Jaeger is a physician specializing in internal and laboratory medicine with a long-standing interest in complex metabolic and post-infectious conditions, including Long COVID and Chronisches Erschöpfungssyndrom (ME/CFS). Since 2020, she has worked with a large number of patients experiencing long-term symptoms following SARS-CoV-2 infection, applying diagnostic and therapeutic strategies based on individual assessment and clinical need.

A core element of her clinical work includes the use of H.E.L.P. Apheresis (Heparin-induced Extracorporeal LDL/Fibrinogen Precipitation), a procedure originally developed for lipid metabolism disorders. Education and Early Career:
1986-1993: Completed Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Endocrinology at the University of Duisburg-Essen and the University of Zurich. Thesis: “Thyroid Metabolism in Chronic Hemodialysis Patients” (Magna cum laude).

Her activities include patient evaluation, development of individualized treatment strategies, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Current Focus and Collaboration:
Dr. Jaeger continues her clinical and diagnostic work in the field of internal and laboratory medicine with a focus on post-viral syndromes, including Long COVID and ME/CFS. She develops individualized treatment plans, supports structured follow-up, and collaborates with medical professionals across various disciplines. Her aim is to support the development and application of evidence-based care for individuals affected by complex chronic conditions. She also seeks to raise awareness of Long COVID and ME/CFS and to contribute to the advancement of research and treatment approaches in these evolving fields.
